Gris Caro has been transferred to the care of Chris Nash for his current preparation and looks likely to have his first competitive start in the top-end after being included in 2015 Darwin Cup nominations.

Gris Caro began his racing career abroad in his native France; arriving in Australia and the care of Jake Stephens prior to the 2013 Spring Carnival.

Posting a commendable race record of six wins and a further five minors through nineteen career starts so far, the With Approval entire was unlucky to miss the 2014 Caulfield Cup (2400m) through a minor injury, but found great form in the lead-up highlighted by success in the Group 3 Naturalism Stakes (2000m).

Lightinthenite ran a close second in the 2014 edition of the Darwin Cup, and has been transferred back into the care of Gary Clarke for another tilt at the feature race this season.

Securing an impressive seven wins and six minors through a competitive 32 start career, the Galileo gelding will carry winning form into the 2015 Darwin Cup after taking out the Minister’s Cup (1600m) by close to two lengths at the Fannie Bay course on July 11th.

Gai Waterhouse looks likely to be represented in the 2015 Darwin Cup after including classy stayer Travolta in nominations.

Travolta has won six of his 38 competitive appearances since first appearing on course during the 2010 spring, but arguably found career-best form to date through a 2013/14 summer and autumn highlighted by successes in the Listed ATC Cup (2000m) and Listed Australia Day Cup (2400m) and credible fourth in the Group 1 Auckland Cup (3200m).

Having returned this time for sixth in the T Harrison Cup (1600m) at Moonee Valley on June 20th, the Handsome Ransom gelding will have taken huge benefit from a fact-finding run in the Metric Mile (1600m) at Fannie Bay last weekend and is primed for a successful run in the Darwin Cup.

2014 Darwin Cup winner Saturday Sorcerer has also been included in nominations, while local trainer Neil Dyer appears as though he will dominate the race’s final field after including all of Royal Request, Bolton, Proverb and Bel Sir in nominations.
